Bansko, Bulgaria, has been recognized as one of the top travel destinations for 2025, ranking third in Lonely Planet's list of best travel spots. The city of Toulouse, France, takes the top spot, according to The Independent.
Greta Thunberg joins anti-motorway protest
Climate activist Greta Thunberg Saturday joined a banned anti-motorway protest where police had fired tear gas and made arrests the previous day.
Thunberg came as part of a delegation of French, Belgian, Swedish and Spanish activists to the site near the southwestern city of Toulouse.

Maguy Marin, a prominent figure in contemporary dance who art lovers have been waiting for years to see, is coming to Turkey for the first time.
Marin, one of the pioneers of a new wave of dance in France, will be on stage tonight at Cemal Reşit Rey (CRR) Concert Hall with his stage choreography and a masterpiece called May B.

World’s biggest planes meet at Istanbul Airport
Istanbul Airport has witnessed a historical moment while hosting the world's two biggest planes, an airliner and a cargo plane, at the same time on Oct. 5.
"World's biggest cargo plane named 'Mriya' and world's biggest airliner, an Airbus A380 type jumbo jet, could be screened at the same photo-shoot in a rare event," airport officials said.

Aegean lands its first Airbus A320neo aircraft
Aegean Airlines has taken delivery of its first A320neo aircraft at the Airbus headquarters in Toulouse, France.
This is the first airplane from a new fleet of at least 46 A320neo and A321neo aircraft that the Greek carrier will collect by 2024, at a total cost of $6 billion.

Athens on short list of 12 for innovation distinction
Athens is among 12 cities short-listed for the European Capital of Innovation Award, an annual prize awarded to the European city that is best able to demonstrate its ability to harness innovation to improve the lives of its citizens.
The other 11 finalists are Aarhus, Antwerp, Bristol, Gothenburg, Hamburg, Leuven, Lisbon, Madrid, Toulouse, Umea and Vienna.
