Israel bombarded south Beirut at least 10 times late Thursday, Lebanese sources said, after it launched its deadliest strike on the occupied West Bank in decades.

Journalists in the occupied West Bank are being "attacked and harassed" by Israeli forces, according to two United Nations experts, who accused Israel of trying to prevent reporting on alleged "war crimes."

At the end of August, Israel launched a large-scale offensive across the northern West Bank, fighting Palestinian militants and leaving widespread destruction.

The mayor of Jenin on Sunday compared an ongoing Israeli military operation in the northern occupied West Bank city to an "earthquake," estimating that about 500 million shekels ($135.2 million) of damage had been caused so far.
