Brussels Airport reopened April 3 with three "symbolic" flights and strict additional checks for passengers, marking a new high-security era for air travel in Belgium after attacks by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) suicide bombers.

Passenger flights at Zaventem airport are expected to be partially restored on Sunday for the first time after the terrorist attacks which took place on March 22.

This was announced by the CEO of the airport, Arnaud Feist, in a statement issued on Saturday. Feist thanked all airport staff for their efforts, expressing hope for the future of the airport.

At its regular meeting on Wednesday, the Bulgarian government approved additional expenses to the budget of the Sports Ministry for 2016 amounting to BGN 2.6 M.

Bulgaria and Italy were selected as co-hosts by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) last week.

Bulgaria will allocate EUR 5 M for co-hosting the 2018 Men's World Volleyball Championship together with Italy.

Bulgarian Sports Minister Krasen Kralev explained that any additional expenses would have to be met by the Bulgarian volleyball federation.
