Labor dispute shuts down Canada's west coast ports
Workers at Canada's busiest port in Vancouver and at harbors up and down the nation's west coast stopped work on July 1 in a labor dispute that is likely to disrupt global freight transport.
After months of failed talks, more than 7,000 terminal cargo loaders and 49 waterfront employers in 30 ports went on strike.

Madonna hospitalized for several days, tour postponed
Madonna is recovering after falling ill with a "serious bacterial infection" that landed her in an intensive care unit for several days, her manager Guy Oseary said in a statement on June 28.
"Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care," he said. "A full recovery is expected."

Last night, the annual ranking of the "Economist Intelligence Unit" was released, according to which the Austrian capital is ranked first for the fourth time in the last five years, the Austrian public radio and television ORF reported.
