Erdoğan sends letter to Trump, says Turkey will show solidarity as a strong ally
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has promised to stand in solidarity with the United States in its struggle against the coronavirus pandemic and as it recovers from the outbreak.
In a letter sent to U.S. President Donald Trump, Erdoğan said he was following with appreciation Trump's efforts to control the outbreak.
US envoy thanks Turkey for sending protective gear
The U.S. ambassador to Ankara on April 28 thanked Turkey for sending medical equipment to the U.S. to help with the country in its fight against the coronavirus.
In a written statement, Ambassador David Satterfield hailed relations between Ankara and Washington, saying that Turkey is one of the most important allies of the U.S.

After 21 months of imposing reciprocal tariffs, the world's two biggest economies finally reached a trade agreement and signed a phase-one deal on Jan. 15 in Washington, D.C.

Canada's PM mourns victims of plane crash in Iran
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Jan. 8 it was a "somber day" after a plane leaving from an airport in Iran crashed shortly after takeoff, killing all 176 people on board, including 63 Canadians.
On video carried live by Canadian news services, Trudeau addressed the tragedy.
