Romania's mergers and acquisitions market, including deals without a publicly revealed value, ranged between 1.4 and 1.6 billion euro in Q3, by 15 percent higher than in the similar period of the previous year, according to an analysis carried out by consultancy company Deloitte.

KAI Group, the largest Bulgarian manufacturer of ceramic tiles, has been acquired by leading global flooring manufacturer Mohawk Industries.

The previous owner of KAI Group, investment fund Advent International, is selling the company 7 years after acquiring it.

The privatization project for regional airports gets under way on Friday with the submission of binding offers by investors interested in undertaking their operation for about 40 years.

The same investors will also undertake the modernization of the terminals, which will involve investments of 200 million euros.

Advent International and a Bulgarian-Russian consortium headed by businessman Denis Barekov are reportedly the key bidders for nationalized Austrian bank Hypo Alpe Adria.

The bank, which Austria nationalized in 2009 to prevent its collapse, is to sell its Balkan network by mid-2015 at the behest of the EU Commission.
