Aegean Airlines expands its routes with 145 different destinations

Aegean Airlines management announced its 2016 route network during a Press Conference in Athens attended by Elena Kountoura, Minister of Tourism, as well as, Greek tourism industry representatives. The new network marks the third year of continued strong growth by Aegean and the increasing contribution to the Greek economy and tourism sector.

New sales back down to earth at Dubai airshow

The Dubai Airshow took off yesterday to a slow start amid expectations for a record low in sales as the Gulf's main airlines have already placed large orders with major manufacturers.

"Due to large previous orders, the total show order tally this year will be much less than years prior," said Ben Moores, senior analyst at IHS Aerospace, Defense & Security.

Doubts Over Possible Causes of Russian Airplane Crash in Egypt Remain

Doubts over the possible causes behind the crash of the Kogalymavia airplane in Egypt's Sinai peninsula last week remain as different suggestions have been expressed by the Russian airline, investigators, authorities and intelligence sources.

According to French aviation officials familiar with the investigation, the crash was not due to technical failures, the BBC reports.

TAI delivers first set of A350-1000 ailerons to Airbus

Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TAI) has said it made its first delivery of an A350-1000 aileron set to Airbus in a ceremony held at TAI's facilities on Nov. 3. 

The delivery was the result of a contract signed nearly two years ago as an addition to the contract for an A350-900 program between the two companies, said TAI in a press release on Nov. 4. 

There is no evidence that plane broke up in mid-air, Egypt’s official says

Egypt’s civil aviation ministry said there were no facts proving that the Russian plane that crashed in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula on Saturday broke up in mid-air.

The spokesman for the ministry, Mohamed Rahmi, has told Reuters that no distress call had been received before the crash.

Big Airlines Suspend Flights after Russian Plane Crash

Some of the biggest airlines in the world - Emirates, Lufthansa and Air France - decided to suspend flights over the Sinai Peninsula, Egypt, after a Russian airplane crashed on Saturday leaving all 224 people on board dead.

Lufthansa and Air France were the first to take the measure, announcing hours after the incident  they would suspend flights over the region.
