BREAKING: Military Plane Crash Halts Air Show Preparations in Bulgaria (UPDATED)

Defense Minister Atanas Zapryanov has called off the planned air show at the Third Air Base following an accident involving a military transport plane, the L-39 Albatros, the Ministry of Defense reported.

The incident occurred during preparations for tomorrow's demonstrations, set to mark the 20th anniversary of Bulgaria's accession to NATO.

Turkish defense firm refers to ‘Blue Homeland’ in connection with drone missile test

Baykar, the Turkish defense contractor run by the son-in-law of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Selcuk Bayraktar, has referred to Ankara's controversial expansionist doctrine in a press release hailing a firing test at sea with its newly developed "Bayraktar Akinci" unarmed combat aerial vehicle, saying it "showcased its impact in the Blue Homeland."

Mali gets new batch of drones from Türkiye

Mali took delivery of more aircraft from Russia as well as drones from Türkiye on March 16, according to an AFP correspondent.

Mali's air force chief, General Alou Boi Diarra, said he had received around 20 aircraft and a dozen drones at a ceremony.

AFP counted five planes and four drones on the tarmac of Bamako airport.

Istanbul green area zoned for construction sold amid objections

A 30,000-square-meter green area by the sea in Istanbul's coastal Büyükçekmece district, known as Albatros Park, has been sold to two companies that bid through a joint venture in a tender on April 11. 

According to a report in daily Habertürk, the park area was sold for 163 million liras (about USD $45 million) to the Demir İnşaat and SQY Investment Group.
