The days before the official start of the campaign for the early parliamentary elections on July 11 are characterized by a series of significant events that have a strong but diverse impact on the public and attitudes of voters.

A poll by Alpha Research has found that 63.2 per cent of Bulgarians disapprove of the refusal by cable television presenter Slavi Trifonov's TISP political party to seek to form a government.

Alpha Research pollster made public the first data from the distribution of the vote by education and age brackets.

Of those with university master or bachelor degree 26% voted for GERB; 18% for DB; 17% for There is such a people!; 13% for BSP; 5% for Stand up! Mafiosi out!; 4% for VMRO and 3% for MRF.

Traditionally, with the exit polls in, this should be an article headlined "Bulgaria's April 2021 parliamentary elections: Winners and losers".

But, quite obviously, going by the headline above, it is not.

Parallel vote count at 100% by Alpha Research polling agency shows that Boyko Borrisov's GERB-Union of Democratic Forces coalition has won 25.2% share of the votes in Bulgaria's parliamentary elections, held on April 4.

The party of the TV presenter, Slavi Trifonov "There is Such a People" is second with 17.1%.

According to the latest results of a survey by Alpha Research, conducted between March 27th and 30th among 1,007 adult Bulgarians across the country.

 According to the Bulgarian health minister Angelov, Some GPs advise their patients not to get vaccinated.

Bulgaria is the country with the lowest vaccination rate in the EU - 1.2 doses per 100 people.

For comparison, the average in the EU is 5.3, and in the UK - 24.7.

The reason for this lag is the distrust in the institutions, writes Bloomberg in an analysis.

Borissov criticized Radev's decision, saying it was hard to know how the pandemic would unfold by late March and implying that elections should be delayed.

More than 40 percent of Bulgarians expect that there will be no landslide winner in the upcoming parliamentary elections, they rather think that several parties will have close results. In this situation, an equal number of people are to form governing coalitions with the political formations garnering the most votes - GERB and BSP.
