Turkish parliament accepts int'l agreement for 2nd nuclear power plant
Parliament?s General Assembly accepted in the early hours of April 1 an international agreement between Turkey and Japan for the construction of Turkey?s second planned nuclear plant.
With the approval, the legal framework for the construction of the plant has been laid.
Nuclear company Areva in turmoil after billions in losses
Nuclear manufacturer Areva has announced a 4.8 billion euro loss for 2014, more than its entire market value, plunging the powerful French nuclear industry into turmoil.
The French government said on March 4 it's working closely with Areva to restructure and secure financing, and would "take its responsibility as a shareholder" in future decisions about its direction.
