Downpours soak large parts of the Peloponnese
Rain pounded many parts of Greece on Friday, with Arkadia, Ilia and Achaia in the Peloponnese recording the highest volume of water, according to meteo.gr.
"Strong winds were also recorded in areas of the Peloponnese, such as Pylos and Kalamata," Dr Kostas Lagouvardos, director of research at the National Observatory of Athens, told Kathimerini.

Pfizer-BioTech Covid-19 vaccines arrive in Nafplio, Argos hospitals
The hospitals of Nafplio and Argos in the Peloponnese received their first batches of the Pfizer-BioTech Covid-19 vaccines on Thursday, January 7, 2021. In Nafplio, the truck transporting the 115 doses was greeted with applause from the health workers and the deputy manager of the local hospital, Theodore Vassilopoulos, while the hospital in Argos received 145 doses.
Breaking: Marinakis reportedly makes highest bid for DOL media group
Greek shipping magnate and owner of Olympiakos football club, Evangelos Marinakis has reportedly made the highets bid to buy out DOL media group. After the bids were opened it was revealed that Mr. Marinakis offered 22,892 million euros, compared to Cypriot Vegata that offered 21 million, while PAOK owner Ivan Savvidis gave 11 million.
Festival boosts Cappadocia tourism
The tourism crisis has naturally also hit one of Turkey's first touristic regions, Cappadocia. I was in Cappadocia to see a close friend's newly-bought house in one of its villages, and to participate in the Cappadox Festival.
