Ballast Nedam

A joint venture between TAV Construction and Ballast Nedam, which is owned by Turkey's Rönesans Holding, will build the planned new pier at Amsterdam's Schphol Airport.

Turkey ranked in second place after China for the number of contracting companies building the largest volume of projects across the world outside their home countries for the 10th year in a row, according to the latest list of the world's "top 250 contractors" by the magazine Engineering News Record (ENR).

Turkey's Rönesans Holding has said it is set to undertake a 1 billion euro public-private-partnership (PPP) project in the Netherlands through its Dutch-based company. 

Ballast Nedam, owned by Turkey's Rönesans Holding, will undertake the renovation works of the Amsterdam ArenA stadium, one of the hosts of the 2020 European Championships, said the company in a statement on Feb. 1. 

Troubled Dutch builder Ballast Nedam has agreed to be taken over by Turkey's Renaissance Construction in a deal valuing the target at just 30 million euros ($33 million), the companies said in a joint statement on July 22.
