Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç has strongly criticized the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) for its recent decision to rule against Türkiye in an individual case filed by a teacher convicted of affiliation with FETÖ, the organization behind the 2016 failed coup attempt.
Former Turkish footballer arrested over FETÖ links
Former footballer Zafer Biryol, who was wanted for "being a member of an armed terrorist organization," has been caught in an operation against FETÖ's "football structure" in Istanbul's Büyükçekmece district.
He was found to attend the FETÖ's meetings, visit Fethullah Gülen, the ringleader of the organization, in 2006 and have an account in Bank Asya, a FETÖ-linked bank.

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has demanded up to 15 years in jail for the son-in-law of former Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arınç on charges of being a member of the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ), widely believed to have been behind the failed July 2016 coup attempt, daily Habertürk reported on July 12.
