BILLA Bulgaria will donate BGN 100,000 to fight the coronavirus in the country as part of the charity campaign 'Together against the coronavirus', initiated by the Bulgarian Red Cross. The campaign is raising funds to support efforts by the National Operational Headquarters to address the epidemiological situation caused by the spread of COVID-19.

BILLA Bulgaria has strengthened its position as a leader in number of shops in the country with the opening of a new supermarket at a central location in Sofia. The chain now has 128 sites, 52 of which are in the capital. The new shop is located on Knyaz Alexander Dondukov Korsakov Blvd. №11, near the Serdika metro station.

Bulgaria's Commission for Protection of Competition (KZK) has launched a probe into a suspected cartel agreement between four foreign retail chains operating in the country.

Germany's supermarket group REWE said on Wednesday it will withdraw completely from discount business in Bulgaria with all PENNY stores ceasing to operate by the end of next month.

BILLA Bulgaria had a successful year in 2014, as its turnover increased with 4.8 %, amounting to BGN 614 000.

The financial results of the company for 2014 were significantly better than the initial expectations, the press office of BILLA Bulgaria informs.
