In 2024, it was another good year for the world’s “billionaires” club. Their combined fortune grew by $370 billion – an amount greater than the value of a banking giant like Bank of America ($308 billion).

The two-hour “discussion” between U.S. Presidential candidate Donald Trump and X platform owner and Tesla CEO Elon Musk faced technical issues, starting 40 minutes late. Musk hinted at a cyberattack, which prevented thousands from joining. During the conversation, Trump attacked Kamala Harris and Joe Biden, focusing on issues like inflation and illegal immigration.

The Tesla CEO and SpaceX founder's net worth was recorded at 8.5bn (£138.9bn) in New York on Thursday.

That was around .5bn more than Amazon Inc founder Mr Bezos, who has held the top spot since October 2017.

Mr Musk's increased wealth came as a result of a bounce in Tesla's share price.

Elon Musk on Tuesday took a break from futuristic electric cars and private space travel to unveil a low-cost tunnel he sees as a godsend for city traffic, reports AFP. 

The billionaire behind Tesla and SpaceX late Tuesday put the spotlight on the a 1.14 mile (1.8 kilometer) tunnel created by his Boring Company for about $10 million.

Entrepreneur Elon Musk sipped whiskey and puffed a little weed while musing at length about artificial intelligence, colonizing space, and the need to give love a chance.

Musk shared thoughts on those topics and more during a podcast with comedian Joe Rogan that lasted more than two hours, stretching into the early hours of Friday.

The American entrepreneur Elon Musk announced through Twitter that he had received "oral approval from the government" to build a super-fast transport link between New York and Washington to cut travel time between the two cities to about 29 minutes, Reuters reported.

At the moment, Amtrak's "Asella" high-speed train takes the distance of 355 kilometers for nearly three hours.
