BP back in Q1 profit after record loss on Russia exit
British energy giant BP reported Tuesday a net profit of $8.2 billion for the first quarter, recovering from a record loss a year earlier as it ended operations in Russia after the Ukraine invasion.

BP, Equinor exiting stakes in Rosneft
British energy giant BP announced on Feb. 27 that it was pulling its 19.75-percent stake in Rosneft following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
London-based BP has held a 19.75 percent stake in Rosneft since 2013. That stake was valued at $14 billion at the time of the announcement.

Oil majors face backlash as era of big profits returns
British oil giants Shell and BP, U.S, firm ExxonMobil and France's TotalEnergies announced last week 2021 profits totalling a whopping $66.7 billion.
It marked a huge turnaround from 2020, when they posted losses as the pandemic emerged, prompting lockdowns that brought the world economy to a grinding halt and caused crude prices to collapse.
BP, Azerbaijan extend oilfield contract
British oil giant BP and energy-rich Azerbaijan on Sept. 14 prolonged their sharing deal for the Caucasus nation's largest oilfields until 2050.
"This time round, the contract is being signed on better terms for Azerbaijan," the ex-Soviet nation's President Ilham Aliyev said during a signing ceremony in the capital, Baku.

BP to sign Azerbaijan oilfield extension deal at end of June
British oil company BP expects to sign a contract at the end of June extending its production sharing deal for Azerbaijan's biggest oilfields until 2050, the company's regional head said on May 31.
