Spain is Sending 130 Servicemen and 4 Eurofighters to help Bulgaria protect its Airspace

The Air Force of the Kingdom of Spain will relocate 130 servicemen and 4 Eurofighter EF-2000 Typhoon II aircraft to Bulgaria. They will perform tasks on enhanced airspace protection together with the Bulgarian Air Force until March 31, 2022, the Ministry of Defense announced. The first Spanish fighters are expected to land at Graf Ignatievo Air Base by the end of the week.

Flight Recorder of a Bulgarian Air Force MiG-29 Has Been Recovered from a Depth of 70 metres

The flight recorder of a Bulgarian Air Force MiG-29 jet fighter, which crashed in the Black Sea on June 9, has been recovered from a depth of 70 metres with the help of equipment provided by a private company, caretaker Defence Minister Georgi Panayotov said in Stara Zagora (Southeastern Bulgaria) on Thursday. 

Crash Site of MiG-29 Found but Search for "black box" Continues

The location where a Bulgarian Air Force MiG-29 fighter aircraft crashed in the Black Sea in the early hours of June 9 during a nighttime training exercise has been confirmed.

Debris from the crashed aircraft is scattered across a large area on the sea bed. The black box has not been found, Commander of the Navy, Rear Admiral Kiril Mihailov, told a briefing for the media on June 17.
