Bulgarian Food Safety Agency Confirmed New Outbreaks of African Swine Fever in the Regions of Pleven and Veliko Tarnovo

The Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BNSA) found two new outbreaks in private farms in the city of Iskar, Iskar municipality, Pleven and Klimentovo, Polski Trambesh, Veliko Tarnovo. In both farms there were nearly 30 pigs.

First Cases of African Swine Fever Found in Four Wild Boars in Dobrich

First cases of infection with African swine fever virus (ASF) were found in four wild boars in Dobrich region (Northeastern Bulgaria). They were shot in a hunting farm on the land of the village of Bulgarevo, the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA) announced on 1st of November, reports BNT. 

Fast Food Chain, Bulgarian Food Safety Agency Clash over Extortion Allegations

Fast food chain Aladin Foods OOD has accused the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA) of extortion, while the Agency has insisted that the company fails to meet safety and hygiene standards.

The founder of the company, Aladin Harfan, claimed that the Agency had requested a monthly bribe of EUR 10 000 to leave the company alone.
