Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek will be in the United States this week for G20 and World Bank meetings, and he is also expected to meet with investors during his visit.

Turkish Treasury and Finance Minister Lütfi Elvan and U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen on July 9 met on the sidelines of a G20 meeting in Venice.

"We held a very fruitful meeting [with Yellen] for the improvement of our economic and trade ties," Elvan wrote on Twitter amid the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meeting.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is and has to remain a quotas-based institution and we are prepared to support even their increase, taking into account that the European Union is open to doubling at least the New Arrangements to Borrow (NAB), Romanian Public Finance Minister Eugen Teodorovici said on Friday in Washington.

Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors of G20 countries met in Buenos Aires. The talks passed in the shadow of planned US duties on imports of steel and aluminum.

Finance Minister and EU Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN) President Vladislav Goranov will represent the Council of the European Union at the first meeting of the Ministers of Finance and Central Bank Governors on 19-20 March at the G20 meeting in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This was announced by the press center of the  Ministry of Finance.

BECICI – An annual Southeast Europe (SEE) summit of finance ministers and central bank governors, which will discuss financial future of the region, will start in Becici, a coastal tourist resort in Montenegro, on Friday.
