Volvo Announces that it will Put Electric Trucks on the Road This Year

This week, Volvo is adding itself to the list of many truck manufacturers working on electric trucks.

The Swedish group says that it will bring the electric trucks to the road as soon as this year and start selling them next year.

Japanese company Yazaki opens factory in western Serbia

Japan's Yazaki company on Tuesday opened a factory in the Sabac industrial zone, in western Serbia.

The 30,000 sq-meter plant will produce cable sets for Daimler trucks, and employ 500 workers, Beta reported.

Yazaki company has agreed to invest nearly EUR 25 million in Serbia, and to hire 1,700 workers in the coming period, while its export target is some EUR 120 million.

Germany puts arms exports to Turkey on hold: German FM

Germany has put all major arms exports to Turkey on hold due to the deteriorating human rights situation in the country and increasingly strained ties with its NATO ally, German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel said on Sept. 11.

The comments came after a Foreign Ministry spokesman in Berlin said another German couple was believed to have been detained in Turkey on political charges.
