World’s biggest planes meet at Istanbul Airport

Istanbul Airport has witnessed a historical moment while hosting the world's two biggest planes, an airliner and a cargo plane, at the same time on Oct. 5.
"World's biggest cargo plane named 'Mriya' and world's biggest airliner, an Airbus A380 type jumbo jet, could be screened at the same photo-shoot in a rare event," airport officials said.

Emirates Airlines Ordered Aircrafts for USD 16 Billion

Emirates Airlines has signed a $ 16 billion deal for the purchase of 36 Airbus A380 aircrafts a few days after the European company reported that due to lack of orders it could stop producing those machines.

The company announced they have received rigid orders for 20 of the big planes with options for 16 more. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2020, reported BGNews.

Russia's Rostov-on-Don airport reopens after deadly crash

The airport in the southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don reopened March 21, just over two days after a passenger jet from budget airline FlyDubai crashed there on landing, killing all 62 people on board.   

The Boeing 737, which was flying from Dubai to Rostov-on-Don, exploded into a fireball after missing the runway on a second landing attempt in heavy wind and rain.

Emirates adds second flight linking Athens with Dubai

Emirates Airlines adds a second daily flight to Athens increasing its weekly flight to Athens to 14.

According to an announcement issued by the airline, the flight will be linked with the already existing itinerary Dubai-Larnaca offering the opportunity to passengers to make reservations between the Cyprus city of Larnaca and Athens.
