EuroLeague basketball season canceled over pandemic
The Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and EuroCup basketball tournaments on May 25 have become the latest major sports events canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"Due to reasons beyond our control, we have been forced to cut short the most successful and exciting season in European basketball history," EuroLeague said in a statement.
Greeks losing sight of Euroleague play-off spots
Greece's Euroleague representatives are already drifting away from the top eight spots of the table, that lead to the playoffs, after their home losses this week, as Panathinaikos went down to Armani Milano and Olympiakos to Zenit St Petersburg.

Olympiakos make 1.37 million euros in Euroleague run
Olympiakos might have lost the 2016-17 Euroleague basketball final, but they put a total of 1.73 million in their bank account. Based on announcements made by Euroleague CEO Jordi Bertomeu on the pool sharing of teams that took part in the competition, each win during the regular season brought in 40,000 euros, which means 760,000 for the reds.
More wins for Reds and Greens in Euroleague
Greece's Euroleague representatives started another "double week" in the tournament very well, with Olympiakos beating Red Star Belgrade at home on Tuesday and Panathinaikos triumphing at Armani Milano on Wednesday.
Despite the absences of Giorgos Printezis and Daniel Hackett, Olympiakos strolled to a 73-65 home win for its ninth victory in 13 games in the regular season.
