Greece has shortlisted nine investors in a tender for a minority stake in Athens International Airport (AIA), the country's biggest, its privatisation agency said on Friday.

The sale is crucial for Greece which emerged from international bailouts in 2018 and is aiming for privatisation receipts of 2.4 billion euros ($2.7 billion) this year.

Greek state privatization fund HRADF or TAIPED) on Tuesday announced that 10 investment schemes have expressed their interest for a 30 percent stake in Athens International Airport (AIA), owned by the fund.

The deadline for submitting tenders for the Sofia Airport concession was extended due to the great interest of the candidates in the procedure. This was announced by Minister of Transport Rosen Zhelyazkov during the forum "Entrepreneurship, Development, Perspectives", which took place in Pomorie. Bulgaria has opened a tender for granting a 35-year concession on Sofia International Airport.

The future concessionaire will be required to pay a one-off concession fee of at least BGN 550 M (EUR 281 M), VAT excluded, plus an annual fee of at least BGN 9.96 M for the term of the concession.
