Electric car makers race for supplies of lithium for batteries
Threatened by possible shortages of lithium for electric car batteries, automakers are racing to lock in supplies of the once-obscure "white gold" in a politically and environmentally fraught competition from China to Nevada to Chile.
Ford recalls some vehicles for air bag problems
Ford Motor is recalling certain 2004 to 2006 Ranger vehicles because replacement front passenger air bag inflators may have been installed incorrectly.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in a letter that the recall includes 231,942 vehicles.
The vehicles had received replacement front passenger air bag inflators under a previous recall.

Volkswagen, Ford consider building vans in Turkey

Carmakers lead Turkey's 2017 top exporters' list
Carmakers were ranked as one of Turkey's largest three exporters in 2017, with Ford Otosan, a joint venture between Ford Motor and Turkey's Koç Holding, topping the list with an export volume of $4.79 billion.

Ford to tie up with India's Mahindra, eyes access to huge market
Ford Motor and India's Mahindra Group have announced they will work together in a fresh partnership as the U.S. giant looks to boost its presence in one of the world's fastest growing auto markets.
The two, who parted ways from a tie-up in 2005, will co-operate for three years on a number of areas including electric vehicles and sourcing.
