Moldova's ruling Democratic Party, PD, has cancelled the press accreditation of the main pro-opposition TV station, Jurnal TV, without a offering a real reason.

"In the last few years in Moldova, we cannot talk about progress, but more about regression,"  Nadine Gogu, executive director of the Independent Journalism Centre in Chisinau, told the Media Policy Forum in the Moldovan capital on Tuesday.

The US-based watchdog Freedom House's annual Freedom in the World report, published on Tuesday, marked Bosnia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia and Albania as only "partly free", while some countries, like Serbia, experienced a downward trend.

A study of social network manipulation found that of 65 surveyed countries, the governments of 30 of them found themselves active in targeting information in a false direction. The Freedom of the Web 2017 survey was conducted by Friedham House, reports bgnes. 

On Friday, The Washington Post published an op-ed by U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley in which she condemned the way in which the Human Rights Council (HRC) operates.

US-based watchdog Freedom House's annual 'Freedom in the World' report, published on Thursday, identified Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania and Serbia as free countries, but Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia and Montenegro as only 'partly free'.

Bulgaria ranks as "Free" according to Freedom in the World 2017, Freedom House's annual report on political rights and civil liberties.
