Push to build second nuclear reactor by 2035
While a decision on a new nuclear reactor in Slovenia is still pending, it could be built and running by 2035 if things proceed without hiccups, according to a senior official of Gen Energija, the company which manages Slovenia's only nuclear power station in Krško.

Košorok sees second nuclear reactor as guarantee of reliable energy supply
Krško – Blaž Košorok, the new head of GEN Energija, a state-owned power company that manages Slovenia’s half of the Krško Nuclear Power Plant, believes a second reactor in Krško would guarantee reliable and cost effective energy supply. Energy prices will never go back to what they were, he said in an interview with the STA.

Ljubljana – The Infrastructure Ministry has issued an energy permit for the construction of the second unit at the Krško nuclear power station, a step that allows permitting procedures to begin and comes a week after the national climate strategy enshrined nuclear as a long-term energy option. Energy group GEN trumped 2020 plans with EUR 65m in net profit
Krško – Power utility group GEN, which manages the Slovenian half of the Krško power plant, exceeded its plans last year despite the challenging situation and delayed investments due to the Covid-19 epidemic. There were also no disturbances in electricity supply. Net profit reached EUR 65 million, CEO Martin Novšak told the press on Thursday.
