A Turkish woman from the Black Sea province of Karabük, who is 215.16 centimeters (7 feet, 0.7 inches) tall, has been named the tallest woman alive by Guinness World Records.
Rümeysa Gelgi, who was previously named the tallest (female) teenager alive at the age of 18 in 2014, claimed a second title when she was officially remeasured by Guinness this year.
Tea glass-shaped building in ‘Turkish tea capital’ eyes Guinness record
Local authorities have applied to the Guinness World Records to get a seven-floor building in the shape of a tea glass in the Black Sea province of Rize, known as "the capital of Turkish tea," to be registered as the "the biggest tea glass."

Erden Eruç, the holder of 15 Guinness world records, hopes to be the first person in history to row across the Pacific Ocean, from North America to Asia.
Speaking to Anadolu Agency in an interview, Eruç said that in two weeks, he planned to depart from Crescent City, California in a rowboat for Hong Kong, where he aims to make landfall in March 2022.

Turkish girl equalizes her basketball record
A 13-year-old Turkish girl broke the world record for two consecutive years at Guinness World Records Kids' "Longest Time Dribbling Two Basketballs While Blindfolded" category.
Ecrin Mart, who broke a record by making 142 dribbles in 22 seconds in 2020, equaled the record again on Feb. 5.

World's oldest living person celebrates 118th birthday
Kane Tanaka, a Japanese woman recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's oldest living person, turned 118 on Jan. 2, according to local media.
Tanaka, born on Jan. 2, 1903, celebrated her 118th birthday at a care facility in Fukuoka, southwestern Japan, where she lives, NHK News reported.
Micro-sculptor creates thumbtack size chess set
A Turkish micro-sculptor created a ceramic chess set on a board measuring 9 by 9 millimeters, asserting it to be two times smaller than the set of current Guinness World Record's holder.
Necati Korkmaz told Anadolu Agency that he worked around six hours every day in the last six months to finish his tiny chess set.

A Man Broke 98 Pencils in One Minute for a Guinness Record (VIDEO)
An Idaho man who with a penchant for breaking Guinness World Records records another record, breaking 98 pencils in one minute, BTA reported.
David Rush, who has set over 100 Guinness records, attended a school conference in Idaho and tried to improve the record for breaking pencils in front of attendees.
