Germany's HeidelbergCement has agreed to purchase a 45% stake in Italy's Italcementi SpA for EUR 1.67 B from Italmobiliare.

In Bulgaria Italcementi Group owns the cement plants in Devnya and Dimitrovgrad, Devnya Cement and Vulkan Cement, respectively.

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov boasted that over 10 000 jobs had been created in plants opened over the past few days in the country.

Speaking Friday in Devnya at the opening of a new production line at the local cement plant, Borisov noted that the new jobs had been created in Burgas, Stara Zagora, and Devnya, according to reports of the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency.

"We are very happy that the media are our very, very passionate partner in bringing the awareness in our Bulgarian society, which awareness is saying 'No' to the institutionalization of children," Ivanka Shalapatova, Executive Director of For Our Children foundation, has said, accepting her award in the Charity section of the 2014 Personality in the News contest conducted by Novinite.com.

Under the management of Mr. Schmidt, Devnya Cement has won the 2014 Investor of the Year award of InvestBulgaria Agency.

British Ambassador to Bulgaria Jonathan Allen has turned out to be the most popular personality Novinite's 2014 poll.

Allen has garnered more votes than any other contender in any of the other five categories, apart from winning the contest in Diplomacy,
