Prominent Greek sculptor dies at age 87

Greek sculptor Theodoros Papadimitriou, who signed his work with his first name, died in Athens on Friday at the age of 87.

Theodoros is best known to the general public for his sculpture "Metro Clock," which graces the main concourse of the Syntagma metro station in central Athens, but also a stainless steel and bronze piece he did for the Athens Exchange called "Rising Index."

Ex-parliament speaker files lawsuits over not seeking war reparations

Former parliamentary speaker Zoe Constantopoulou, who broke away from SYRIZA in 2015 and formed her own far-left party, is taking legal action against President Prokopis Pavlopoulos, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and Bank of Greece Governor Yannis Stournaras for purportedly not seeking war reparations from Germany.

Summer with Engonopoulos, Lappas and nudes

There's an interesting lineup of art exhibitions scheduled around Greece this summer, and then of course there's documenta, which as well as its home city Kassel in Germany is also taking place at locations in Athens until mid-July. On the islands, several tributes have already launched, focusing mainly on painting and honoring the Greek sculptor George Lappas, who died last year.

Documenta 14 expands into Athens

Polish artistic director of Documenta 14 art exhibition, Adam Szymczyk, is seen during an opening press conference at the Athens Concert Hall on Thursday.
