Ukraine suspends Russian gas purchases in new price row
Ukraine announced on June 30 the immediate suspension of all Russian gas purchases after EU-mediated negotiations aimed at keeping supplies running for at least three more months broke down.
Ukraine Not Buying Russian Gas Anymore, Naftogaz Says
Ukraine's state-owned utility Naftogaz has said it will stop purchasing gas from Russian energy giant Gazprom as of July 1, until a pricing dispute has been settled.
Kiev maintains the price of USD 247 per 1000 cubic meters currently proposed by the Russian concern is not acceptable, and that the rate should be slightly above USD 200.

The EU urged Ukraine on April 1 to accept Russia's offer to extend the current gas deal with Kyiv by another three months, saying it bodes well for an agreement for next winter.

Russia, Ukraine meet to settle gas deal
The EU said it hoped for a "positive outcome" in talks in Brussels on March 2 between the Russian and Ukrainian energy ministers aimed at resolving a gas supply dispute threatening deliveries to Europe.
Russian state-owned gas giant Gazprom threatened last week to cut deliveries to Ukraine and divert supplies instead to eastern parts of the country controlled by pro-Kremlin rebels.

Russia has confirmed that it will attend talks with the European Union and Ukraine on March 2 aimed at resolving a bitter gas supply dispute which threatens deliveries to Europe.
Medvedev warns Kiev to pay for “separatist” gas

Russia Starts Supplying Gas to Rebel-Controlled East Ukraine
Russia's Gazprom started supplying gas to rebel-held eastern Ukraine on Thursday afternoon after Kiev cut deliveries, citing damage to the pipelines caused by fighting.
Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller, as cited by RIA Novosti, announced that the company had started delivering gas to Ukraine via the Prokhorovka and Platovo pumping stations at 4 pm Moscow time.
