Solar Energy Producers Not Allowed into DKEVR Session

Representatives of Bulgarian Photovoltaic Association (BPA) were hindered from entering Bulgarian energy watchdog DKEVR's session on Monday.

Members of the BPA said that their commercial interests had been infringed by the State Commission for Energy and Water Regulation (DKEVR) after the latter decided they could not attend the meeting, the website Expert.bg reported.

DKEVR Puts Off Decision on Power Distributors' Permits

Bulgarian energy watchdog DKEVR has postponed its decision whether to scrap the permits of operating power distributors.

At DKEVR's session on Monday, it was revealed that the state-owned National Electricity Company (NEK) had presented new evidence regarding the alleged BGN 350 M debt of power distributor utilities.

Power Distributor Energo-Pro Also Takes Bulgaria to Court

Energo-Pro has become the second power distributor to sue Bulgaria at the World Bank's arbitrary court.

The Czech company has announced that it has lodged a claim with the International Center of Settlement of Investment Disputes, which could be launched in case of failed arbitration, Energo-Pro's sources have informed Bulgarian newspaper Trud.

Bulgaria's EDCs: We Are Concerned About the Energy Sector

Two of three of Bulgaria's electricity distribution companies (EDCs), EVN and CEZ, expressed their concern with the situation with the country's energy sectors. 

The two, plus Energo-Pro, are threatened with losing their licenses, unless they pay to Bulgaria's National Electricity Company (NEK) BGN 318 M by the end of today.
