Nova Ljubljanska Banka

Ljubljana – Nova Ljubljanska Banka (NLB), Slovenia’s largest bank, has completed the acquisition of an 83.2% stake in Komercijalna Banka (KB) in Serbia, a move it describes as a milestone in its strategy of becoming the leading financial institution focused on Southeast Europe. NLB paid EUR 394.7 million for the stake.

Slovenia's money-laundering office has opened an investigation into claims by opposition parties that the country's biggest state-owned bank, Nova Ljubljanska Banka (NLB), may have laundered nearly €1bn from Iran between 2008 and 2010, breaking an international embargo and failing to enforce rules on the financing of terrorism.
