The leading hotel group Accor announced its commitment to join the UN Global Tourism Plastics Initiative and to remove all single-use plastic items in guest experience from its hotels by the end of 2022. This decision will affect the local hotels managed by Accor - Novotel Sofia and ibis Sofia.

It is expected today that the Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumer Affairs Council meeting in Luxembourg will decide in which of the four EU capitals the European Labor Office will be located.

Sofia, Nicosia, Riga and Bratislava are the four European capitals that are fighting for its headquarters.

It is expected to be set up this year and be operational by 2023.

The largest hotel chain in Eastern Europe - the Orbis group, will open their first hotel in Plovdiv. At the moment it runs through franchise sites in Sofia - ibis to the airport and Novotel on Tsarigradsko shosse Boulevard, reports money.bg

Currently, major foreign brands in the hospitality industry in Athens operate 18 hotels with a total of 3,087 rooms.
