A month after a deadly train collision, Athens-Thessaloniki service will resume
A month after Greece's deadliest train collision in Tempe that killed 57 people, state-run OSE announced on Thursday it would restart the Athens-Thessaloniki-Athens intercity passenger train services on April 3.
SYRIZA says ERGOSE board is made up of ND functionaries
Main opposition SYRIZA has attacked the government over the composition of the board of ERGOSE, a subsidiary of the state-owned railway company OSE that is responsible building infrastructure, saying it was exclusively made up of individuals drawn from the ranks of the ruling New Democracy party.
Rail company cutting back services on holidays
The national rail company OSE on Tuesday said it will be reducing services on several routes over the holidays due to scant demand.
OSE advised commuters to call the 14511 customer service hotline for information regarding any changes, adding that the measure will apply on the eve and day of Christmas and New Year's.

Trainose sale is not on track

The issue of state subsidies to Greek railway operator Trainose is a long way from being resolved, according to Vladimir Yakunin, the president of Russian Railways, which has expressed an interest in acquiring the firm.

Rail company enters digital age, gradually
Railway operator OSE on Friday said that it is launching the first phase of an electronic information system which is expected to make travel easier for passengers.
The new system will provide commuters with real-time travel updates on digital announcement boards and later on their smartphones, tablets and laptops at the countrys railway stations.

Trains Between Sofia and Thessaloniki to Run Again
The Greek railway company OSE restores the passenger trains between Sofia and Thessaloniki from May 10, reports Bulgaria's public broadcaster BNR.
The train connection was terminated three years ago by OSE for economic reasons. Now the company renews it, along with the lines from Thessaloniki to Skopje and Belgrade.
