Zbigniew Brzezinski, US National Security Adviser to Jimmy Carter, Dies at 89
Zbigniew Brzezinski, the hawkish strategic theorist who was national security adviser to President Jimmy Carter in the tumultuous years of the Iran hostage crisis and the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in the late 1970s, died on Friday at a hospital in Virginia. He was 89.
Pianist Yanni performs at the pyramids of Egypt
Celebrated Greek pianist/composer Yanni is known for his extravagant live performances at the world’s most significant heritage sites. The Greek-born US-based keyboardist will broadcast his historic “Yanni: The Dream Concert – Live from the Great Pyramids of Egypt” concert at Egypt’s Pyramids of Giza in 2016.

"Russia not planning field operations in Syria"
Russian President Vladimir Putin has said his country does not plan to send ground troops to Syria, and will continue to support the Syrian government.
In an interview for U.S. broadcasters CBS and PBS, he "strongly criticized America's military support given to Syrian rebels as illegal and counter-productive," U.S. media are reporting.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sept. 27 branded U.S. support for rebel forces in Syria as illegal and ineffective, saying U.S.-trained rebels were leaving to join Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) with weapons supplied by Washington.
