Almost 40% drop in automobile sales in Romania, after first two months of 2021 (APIA)

The sales of new automobiles in Romania has dropped by almost 40% during the first two months of this year, in comparison with the similar interval of 2020, according to the data published on Monday, by the Automotive Manufacturers and Importers Association (APIA).

Turkey’s most technologically advanced brands unveiled

Data analytics company NielsenIQ Turkey has identified Turkey's most technological brands in 26 categories by conducting online surveys.

Koç Holding's Arçelik received "Turkey's Most Technological Domestic Brand" and "the Most Technological Brand of the COVID-19 Era" awards, whereas Garanti BBVA was chosen as the most technological bank.

Road motor vehicle registrations up in January

The number of road motor vehicle registrations in Turkey increased 24 percent year-on-year in January, the country's statistics authority revealed on Feb. 23.

A total of 117,313 first- and second-hand vehicles were registered last month, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK).

Compared to the previous month, motor vehicle registration surged by 37.5 percent.

Revoz to relaunch production next Wednesday

Novo Mesto – The production at Renault-owned assembly plant Revoz, which was suspended this week as a supplier of insulation components had to stop deliveries due to a massive fire, will be relaunched next Wednesday. Components will be delivered from Spain, where Treves managed to transfer a part of its production.

Dacia presents Bigster, concept of a 4.6 meter long SUV model

On Thursday, Dacia presented the concept of a 4.6 meter long SUV model, which foreshadows the solution for a C-segment vehicle at the affordable price of a lower segment model. According to a statement from the car manufacturer, the Bigster concept incorporates the values of simplicity and authenticity specific to the Dacia brand.

Competition authority approves share transfer of Hyundai Assan

The Turkish competition authority has approved the sale of 30 percent shares of Hyundai Assan from Turkey's Kibar Holding to Hyundai Motor.

The South Korean automotive giant, the world's fifth-biggest auto group, was already holding 70 percent of stocks in the Turkish automotive company.

Turkish auto industry produces 1.1 mln vehicles in Jan-Nov

Automakers in Turkey produced some 1.15 million vehicles- including automobiles and commercial vehicles - in this January-November, according to a sectoral report.

The figure was down 13% year-on-year, the Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD) said on Dec. 14. 

The country's passenger car production also fell 14% to 761,743 during the same period.
