The head of the Russian arms export agency Rosoboronexport revealed it today

Russia and Turkey are in talks about extra deliveries of Russian-made S-400 missile defense systems to Ankara, the head of Russia's defense sales agency said on Wednesday, Reuters quoted the Interfax news agency as saying.

Ankara and Moscow are in talks on production of the S-400 air defense systems component parts in Turkey, Alexander Mikheev, head of Russian official arms exporter company Rosoboronexport, said on July 25.

All preliminary measures for the delivery of Russian S-400 missile defense systems to Turkey are complete, the head of Russia's arms export company Rosoboronexport said on June 26.       

Russia has started production of the S-400 air defense system for Turkey, manufacturing company Rosoboronexport General Director Alexandre Miheev said on April 25.

Turkey and Russia had reached an agreement on the procurement of the S-400 missile defense system from Russia, and the final decision would be made by the executive committee of Turkey's defense industry, Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım was quoted as saying on Aug. 25.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is to host the Jordanian King and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi in Moscow on Aug. 25 to discuss the Syrian crisis and take part in a showcase of Russia's military industry.

France is about to ditch the deal on two Mistral-class warships whose delivery to Russia it suspended over the Ukraine crisis, a prominent Russian daily argues.

Paris has already sent to Moscow documents that include a proposal for a EUR 785 M settlement to end contracts on the delivery, Kommersant reports, citing its own sources.

Last week, the news fell like a bombshell. Defense Minister ?smet Y?lmaz declared at the Turkish parliament that Turkey?s new defense missile system, to be purchased most probably from China, would not be integrated with NATO?s system. This kicked off a hot discussion on whether Turkey is changing its strategic affiliation and might ultimately withdraw from NATO.

Russia and Egypt have reached a preliminary deal on USD 3.5 B worth of weapons, with anti-missile equipment and pieces of artillery to be sold to Cairo, Moscow official say.

Alexander Fomin, head of Russia's Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation, announced the deal while on an international arms trade fair in South Africa, Interfax news agency reports.
