Blazes Expose Montenegro's Firefighting Deficiencies
Montenegrin Prime Minister Dusko Markovic scheduled an emergency meeting of the security services on Tuesday as the country awaited assistance from NATO and the EU to tackle blazes in the coastal and central area of the country, after admitting that it could not cope on its own.

Montenegrin Foreign Minister Srjan Darmanovic this week visited the Vatican and met with the head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis.
On this occasion, Darmanovic invited the pope to visit Montenegro.

Former Montenegrin official's son becomes Serbian citizen
Milos Marovic, the son of former high-ranking official Svetozar Marovic, became a Serbian citizen in January.
Montenegro state broadcaster RTCG reported this, and added that Milos Marovic is asking to serve his one-year prison sentence in Serbia.

Montenegro Accused of Rigging State TV Competition
Montenegrin journalist Marko Milacic has filed a complaint against the management of the public broadcaster, RTCG, and its director, after they scrapped the competition for a new chief of the state TV, claiming the decision was illegal and politically motivated.

Montenegro Opposition Urges PM Djukanovic to Resign
Several hundred opposition protesters gathered in front of the parliament in Podgorica, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic, who has held power since 1991.
Protesters carrying Serbian and Montenegrin flags shouted "Milo, thief!" and accused the governmnet of corruption, undemocratic practices and election fraud.

Montenegro Parties Haggle Over Public Broadcaster
Montenegro's political leaders are to meet again on Friday in an attempt to resolve the crisis in the country following the failure of a no-confidence vote in the government in January.
But talks between Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic's Democratic Party of Socialists, DPS, and opposition parties have become stuck over who should control the public broadcaster, RTCG.
