Serbian police have detained thousands of migrants within two weeks as a result of daily actions in the northern and eastern regions of the Balkan country, Reuters reported. The arrests are part of a nationwide operation that began two weeks ago after a shooting that left three migrants dead.

Serbian Students Keep up Pressure on 'Vucic Dictatorship'
"Get Out! Get out! Get Out!" thousands voices to the rhythm of drums have echoed through the centre of Belgrade every evening since Aleksandar Vucic, the Prime Minister, won the April 2 presidential election in Serbia.
College student Sasa Loncar said he and his friends came to the protest in Belgrade because they want things to change and because they see Vucic as a dictator.
Plan to Fund Broadcasters Questioned in Serbia
Serbia has confirmed the imposition of a new monthly licence fee for broadcasters of 150 dinars [?1.2], together with continued state financing to keep the national broadcasters, RTS and RTV, solvent.
The plan has drawn criticism from media experts, however, who said the independence of the broadcasters can only be ensured if they are financed solely from taxes paid by citizens.

Bomb removed from construction site in north
A specialist bomb disposal squad of the Emergency Situations Sector on Monday removed a bomb from the Aviv park construction site in Zrenjanin, northern Serbia.
According to the Vojvodina provincial public broadcaster RTV the bomb has been taken to a safe location where it will be destroyed.
