Global smartphone makers plan production in Turkey
Several global smartphone makers, including China's Oppo, South Korea's Samsung as well as Huawei and Alcatel, are planning production in Turkey, Turkish media have reported.
Oppo and Samsung may launch their production in Turkey-based facilities in February or March 2021, according to the daily Milliyet.

Third Turkish drillship reaches its Mediterranean coast
Turkey's third drillship arrived in Taşucu, Mersin, a coastal city in the Mediterranean region of the country on March 15, the energy minister said.
Fatih Dönmez said that the Turkish Petroleum Corporation took the ship into its inventory on Jan. 31 and it set off from the U.K.

South Korea's Former President Sentenced to 17 Years in Prison and a Record Fine
The Supreme Court of South Korea has sentenced a former president of the country, TASS reported. Lee Myung-bak was president between 2008 and 2013. He was found guilty of bribery in a particularly large amount.
He was sentenced to 17 years in prison. He will also have to pay a $ 15.7 million fine.
Turkey procures its third drillship: Report
State-run Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) has added another drilling vessel to its fleet for $37.5 million, according to a prominent Turkish maritime publication.
Sertao, moored at Port Talbot in Britain for two years, was acquired by TPAO in an auction, Istanbul-based Denizcilik Dergisi (Maritime Magazine) reported on Feb. 8.
