IMAD notes decline in energy consumption in autumn
In September, most Slovenian companies expected to cut production by the end of the year in the face of the energy crisis. This has been reflected in electricity consumption, which was much lower last month year-on-year, said the Institute of Macroeconomic Analysis and Development (IMAD). The same goes for natural gas consumption in recent months.

Steel group SIJ’s revenue up a third in first nine months
Ljubljana – Steel group SIJ increased its sales revenue by 34.2% to EUR 714.6 million in the first nine months of the year over the same period last year. Profit before tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) reached EUR 73.5 million, the company said on Monday.
Energy Chamber and businesses urge action in response to price hikes
Ljubljana – Soaring global energy prices are raising concerns in Slovenia, in particular in energy-intensive industry, which is already scaling down production in response to the situation. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS) and the Energy Chamber are calling on the government to act. Boosting self sufficiency is also called for.
Slag as innovative solution for sports infrastructure
Ljubljana- The steel maker SIJ will be joining forces with the Slovenian Olympic Committee in putting its by-product, slag, to good use in the construction of sustainable pump tracks. The project is in line with the principles of circular economy and will also reduce the use of natural resources, the Olympic Committee said on Monday.
