Bosnia Upholds Serb Ex-Soldier’s Sentence for Killing Civilians
Boro Milojica's defence lawyer Ranko Dakic told BIRN that an appeal to reduce the former Bosnian Serb Army soldier's 20-year sentence has been rejected by the appeals chamber of the Bosnian state court.

"The court does not work slowly. It acts on all indictments filed by the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina without delay and has the capacity to process them. However, the indictment filing dynamics and timing comes under the exclusive responsibility of the Bosnian state prosecution," the state court said.

The Bosnian state court announced on Friday that it has discontinued the trial of Milan Bogdanovic, whose acquittal on charges of capturing Bosniak men after the fall of Srebrenica in July 1995, and enabling others to abuse and kill them, was being appealed by the prosecution, because the defendant has died.

In closing arguments at the Bosnian state court on Monday, Boro Milojica's lawyer said it had been proved that his client was not guilty of crimes against humanity in the Prijedor area in 1992.
Lawyer Ranko Dakic said the testimonies given by key witnesses were illogical and unconvincing.
