Romanian PM Mulls Govt Reshuffle
Romania's ruling Social Democrat-led coalition faces its second government crisis in four months after Prime Minister Mihai Tudose announced that he plans to fire cabinet ministers being investigated for graft, instigating a small-scale Cabinet reshuffle. He told media that there has been recent friction between him and Social Democrat leader Liviu Dragnea.

Romania President Rejects Muslim Woman as PM
Romania's President, Klaus Iohannis, on Tuesday rejected the Social Democrat Party's proposal to name Sevil Shhaideh as Prime Minister-designate.
"I have carefully weighed the pros and cons and I have decided not to appoint Sevil Shhaideh," Iohannis said.
"As a result, I am asking the PSD and ALDE [its coalition partner] to make a new proposal," he added.

Senate appoints Radu Boroianu president of Romanian Cultural Institute
The Senate appointed on Tuesday Radu Boroianu as president of the Romanian Cultural Institute.

Boroianu was nominated by the ruling Social Democrat Party and Liberal Conservative Party groups in the Senate; he got 64 votes in favour and 49 against in a secret ballot.
