Societe General achieves significant profitability growth

Societe Generale Bank Srbija (Societe Generale) posts substantial growth of profit before tax in the first half of 2018 (H1) in the amount of 5.3 bln dinars (45.1 million euros), which is by as much as 86 percent higher than the same period last year - a continuation of the positive trend constantly achieved by Societe Generale on the domestic market.

Smuggler caught with 2.1 kilos of heroin taped to his body

The police from the town of Cacak and the Border Police Administration detained S.S., a resident of Cacak, in a joint operation as he was attempting to smuggle 2.1 kilograms of heroin.

The drugs were placed in packages and then attached to the man's abdomen with cling foil, the Interior Ministry (MUP) announced on Friday.

Serbian GDP growth to reach 1.2 percent in 2015

BELGRADE - Serbia's gross domestic product (GDP) is forecast to see a rise of 1.2 percent in 2015 after the last year's 1.8 percent decline in economic activity due to the floods, according to the Macroeconomic Research and Analysis Department of the Societe Generale Bank in Serbia.

A slight increase in exports and lower import volumes are also expected in 2015.

Albania Jails Ten Over Central Bank Theft

The Tirana First Instance Court handed down the jail terms on Thursday following a speedy trial.

The ten employees received relatively light sentences following a deal with prosecutors to plead guilty to the charges.
