Tupac Shakur ring sells for record $1 million
A gold, ruby and diamond crown ring worn by rap legend Tupac Shakur during his last public appearance sold for $1 million at auction in New York on July 25.
The winning bid was well above Sotheby's pre-sale estimate of between $200,000 and $300,000 and becomes the most valuable hip-hop artifact ever sold, the auction house said.

Freddie Mercury’s draft lyrics unveiled
A trove of Freddie Mercury's previously unseen handwritten draft lyrics for some of Queen's biggest hits goes on show Thursday in New York, ahead of their sale in London later this year.
The manuscripts include working drafts for "Bohemian Rhapsody," which Mercury initially planned to call "Mongolian Rhapsody," "Don't Stop Me Now" and "Somebody to Love."

Paul Newman’s Rolexes in auction by Sotheby’s
Two Rolexes that carried "sentimental" value for actor Paul Newman will be auctioned as part of a broad collection of the late icon's personal effects, with the timepieces each expected to earn up to $1 million.
Sotheby's said last month that more than 300 items owned by the movie star and car racer Newman and his wife of 50 years Joanne Woodward would go under the hammer on June 9.
