A research organisation funded by German carmakers sponsored scientific experiments testing nitrogen dioxide, a gas found in exhaust fumes, on people, German daily Stuttgarter Zeitung has said.

A fresh bout of unrest broke out at one of the reception centers for migrants on the Aegean island of Chios on Friday after heavy rain led to widespread flooding that soaked the tents of many refugee families.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel questioned the usefulness of the fence which is being built by FYROM on its border with Greece in an interview with German newspaper Stuttgarter Zeitung.
