Telekom Slovenije faces €123 million class action lawsuit
An association of small shareholders has filed a class action lawsuit against Telekom Slovenije, Slovenia’s leading telecommunications provider, over what it argues are unwarranted unilateral price hikes over the past five years. It is planning similar suits against other providers.
Telekom Slovenije reports surge in cyberattacks
Telekom Slovenije, Slovenia’s largest telecommunications provider, dealt with 22% more cyberattacks in the past year than the year before, when it detected a record number of such attacks. Cyberattacks targeting individuals and companies of all sizes increased with the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the company said in Monday’s press release marking European Cybersecurity Month.

Change agreed at the helm of Telekom Slovenije
Ljubljana – The supervisory board of Telekom Slovenije has reached agreement with Cvetko Sršen and Barbara Galičič Drakslar to end their terms as chairman and member of the management board, respectively, by the time new board members are appointed or by the end of October at the latest. It also dismissed for cause board member Tomaž Jontes.

Demokracija: PM rewarding journalists for “media murders” of rival SDS
Ljubljana – Last week has shown whose servants are the many journalist who were calling for journalistic autonomy under the previous, SDS-led government, including during the strike at public broadcaster RTV Slovenija, the magazine Demokracija says in Thursday’s editorial, headlined Incest of Journalism and Politics Laid Bare.
Parliament launches inquiry into financing of “party propaganda in media”
Ljubljana – The National Assembly launched on Thursday a parliamentary inquiry into suspicions of illegal financing of “party political propaganda in the media with funds of state-owned companies, state institutions or foreign institutions or entities” targeting media owned by or linked with the SDS.
Telemach chosen as public administration’s mobile telephony provider
Ljubljana – The Ministry of Public Administration has chosen telco Telemach as the provider of mobile telephony services, cell phones, and data transfer for the Slovenian public administration in 2022-2025 in a deal worth around EUR 6.6 million.
Telekom Slovenije reports 31% higher Jan-Sep profit
Ljubljana – Slovenia’s telecoms group Telekom Slovenije reported EUR 486.8 million in net sales revenue for the first three quarters of the year, up by 1% on the same period a year ago. Net profit was up by 31% to EUR 35.9 million, although the company said the figure would have been 36% higher when taking into account one-off events in 2020.
Telekom and Eles present solution for mass charging of electric vehicles
Ljubljana – Telecoms provider Telekom Slovenije and national grid operator ELES have developed a solution for mass charging of electric vehicles which enables intelligent charging and remote control of power consumption. The energy-saving solution will be particularly suitable for businesses, they said as they presented it on Monday.
Telemach suing Telekom Slovenije for almost EUR 30m
Ljubljana – The telecommunications provider Telemach has filed a lawsuit at the Ljubljana District Court against telecoms incumbent Telekom Slovenije over alleged violations of regulatory decisions, demanding the payment of EUR 28.796 million in damages with default interest from 1 June until payment.
Telekom Slovenije reports EUR 21.3m in H1 net profit, up 44% y/y
Ljubljana – The group Telekom Slovenije generated EUR 317.6 million in sales revenue in the first half of the year, down 1% from the same period in 2020. Net profit was up by 44% to EUR 21.3 million, Telekom said on Thursday.
