Terme Olimia spa triples profit to EUR 4m
Podčetrtek – Terme Olimia, a state-owned spa operator from Podčetrtek in eastern Slovenia, generated EUR 19.7 million in revenue last year, up 18% from 2020, the first Covid year, and tripled its net profit to EUR 3.9 million. The spa that is almost 100% owned by the Slovenian Sovereign Holding recorded almost 292,000 nights in 2021, a 9.2% rise.

Two ministers in for grilling as MPs convene multi-day session

Spa operator Terme Olimia’s revenue slashed by epidemic
Podčetrtek – Terme Olimia, a state-owned spa operator from Podčetrtek in the east of the country, saw a significant drop in revenue due to the epidemic last year. Net sales revenue dropped by a third to EUR 16.6 million and net profit by 56% to EUR 1.3 million compared to 2019. The number of tourist nights dropped by 26% to almost 267,300.
State increases stake in spa Olimia to over 98%
Ljubljana – Slovenian Sovereign Holding (SSH) has increased the state stake in the spa company Terme Olimia to 98.25% as part of the efforts to create a state hospitality holding.
SSH acquired a further 20.64% stake in Terme Olimia in a public takeover bid that run out on Monday, according to a notice published in the newspaper Delo.

SSH offering EUR 27.50 a share in Terme Olimia takeover bid
Ljubljana – Slovenia Sovereign Holding (SSH) published a takeover bid for spa operator Terme Olimia on Friday, offering EUR 27.50 per share for a total of just over 158,000 shares. The offer stands until 10 May unless extended, according to the bid published in the newspaper Delo.
Health resorts suffered signifiant revenue drops during pandemic
Laško/Podčetrtek/Zreče/Bled – Slovenian health resorts were closed during the first lockdown in spring 2020 and have now been closed a second time since October, admitting only patients sent there for rehabilitation. They have suffered a significant drop in revenue and hope that legislation being drafted by the government will help the sector get back on its feet.
Regulator clears state takeover of spa company
Ljubljana – The Competition Protection Agency has given the go-ahead for Slovenian Sovereign Holding (SSH) to take over spa operator Terme Olimia in what is seen as a step in the creation of a state hospitality holding.
