Croatian opposition parties are demanding Minister of Economy Martina Dalic's resignation over her role in the crisis in Agrokor - the debt-ridden food giant whose bankruptcy threatens to undermine the financial stability of the country.

The Croatian government announced on Tuesday that it has appointed Perusko to head Agrokor with Irena Weber as his deputy, after the huge company's previous extraordianary manager, Ante Ramljak, stepped down.

Ante Ramljak confirmed his resignation as manager of Agrokor to the daily Vecernji list after meeting Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and Economy Minister Martina Dalic.

Agrokor confirmed Ramljak's resignation on Wednesday.
