Greece's Hydrocarbons and Energy Resources Management Company (HEREMA) announced on Thursday the successful completion of the first phase of hydrocarbon surveys by ExxonMobil and HellenIQ Energy southwest of Crete and the consortium's request to begin the second phase, which will determine whether drilling will be carried out.

With just over two weeks to go until the Turkish Presidential and Parliamentary elections, the electoral race is getting heated. Understandably, attention is focused on President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his AKP on the one hand, and his biggest rivals, Kemal Kilicdaroglu and the alliance around the opposition CHP.

"The Constitutional Court ruled that the sentences given by the Press Advertising Agency to newspapers violated the freedom of the press. We call on the Advertising Agency to act on this ruling and for parliament to change the law that leads to arbitrariness," the Journalists' Union of Turkey, TGS, said on Friday.

The law was prepared by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's ruling Justice and Development Party, AKP and its far-right partner, the Nationalist Movement Party, MHP.

Accounting for half of the top 10 companies, automotive firms have dominated Turkey's list of largest exporters, the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) announced on Sept. 18.

Ford was named Turkey's largest exporter in 2020, followed by Toyota Engine Manufacturing Turkey and Oyak Renault.
